Top Gun (1986)
Won the Academy Award for song. Nominated for sound effects, editing, and sound. Did you know that a man was actually killed stunt flying for this film? It is speculated that camera equipment threw off the weight balance on his plane and during a difficult maneuver he lost control and crashed. Very sad. Anyway, the movie is about a man’s struggles and trials as he works to complete his training in Top Gun, the best of the best for naval flight academies. Certainly wooed its audience in its time and has held up well over the years. (Directed by Tony Scott)
