The Mosquito Coast (1986)

This particular film isn't loved by all, but if anything, offers some interesting ideas on mankind. The story is about a man who, sick of the way society treats itself, moves himself and his family to South America to start his own small village. The commune is self-sufficient and everyone lives happy, but good intentions are not enough to keep this "utopia" together. Disagreements internally and problems with the outside world plague the family and it's small group of few friends until the walls come crumbling down, as it were. It’s nice to see Harrison Ford out of his typecast roles. (Directed by Peter Weir)
