The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)

Nominated for the Academy Award for director. What if Jesus Christ had decided not to die for our sins on the cross? What would his life be like then? These are the questions proposed in this film. A vision comes to Jesus as he dies on the cross of how his future would have been had he taken the road more traveled. The film came out under heavy controversy; even to the point of line picketing outside of theaters. People got all worked up and frothy about the thought of Jesus being in a sex scene. The film pushed buttons like not a lot of other films have been able to and our hat’s are off to Scorsese for having the balls to take the project in the first place. (Directed by Martin Scorsese)
