The Doors (1991)
While this film does indeed deal with the other members of the band "The Doors", and chronicles there beginning to end as a group, it is mainly the story of Jim Morrison, the band's lead singer. Morrison is accurately portrayed as a brilliant lyrical artist and musician as well as a drug and alcohol saturated pain in the ass that nobody could stand to be around. Val Kilmer, in his real break out role, plays Morrison flawlessly and even does some of his own vocals for the songs. We have read that Stone actually pitched an early version of the script to Morrison himself, but was turned down. (Written and directed by Oliver Stone)
