The Age of Innocence (1993)
Won the Academy Award for costume design. Nominated for art direction/set decoration, score, screenplay based from previous material, and supporting actress. This is the third time that this story has been filmed (first in 1924 and again in 1934) and is based from the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Edith Wharton. Set in the nineteenth century, a man is engaged to be wed. But when the bride-to-be’s cousin comes into the picture, his decision is no longer so clear. Decent film but certainly not one of Scorsese’s best. (Directed by Martin Scorsese)
