Stand By Me (1986)

Nominated for the Academy Award for screenplay based from previous material. This film is absolutely fantastic. It's a story about growing up and their child’s innocence. Based from the Stephen King short story "The Body", this movie follows four childhood friends on a "treasure hunt" for a real dead body. Along the way, their strengths and weaknesses are exposed and tested over and over. In the end, all of their lives are changed. (Directed by Rob Reiner)
