Ransom (1996)
This is an excellent movie. A man's son is kidnapped. The kidnappers demand an outrageous amount of money. Instead of giving the money to the kidnappers, the man offers it as a reward to anyone who can bring in the criminals. Full of twists, the movie starts strong and stays strong to the end. The script was written as a remake of the 1956 film Ransom!. Howard said that he took the project and didn't know about the earlier film until a few weeks before production. To this day he hasn't seen the original. (Directed by Ron Howard)
