Predator (1987)
Nominated for the Academy Award for visual effects. Without question, one of the greatest sci-fi/action films ever made. The film is a romp in the jungle where the hunter eventually becomes the hunted. A commando team is set deep in the South American jungle to search and rescue a crew of downed airmen. While creeping through the thick foliage, they suddenly find themselves being picked off one by one by an unidentifiable creature. With only one commando and one hostage remaining, the standoff begins. Rumor has it that Jean Claude Van Damme originally played the invisible Predator in a blue suit. Two days after he found out that he wouldn't be seen or credited, his big head floated off set. Le kick. Le punch. (Directed by John McTiernan)
