Jimmy Hollywood is really is a funny look at a struggling actor's Hollywood life. Jimmy is the no name actor that scores anonymous fame as a vigilante. With fame in his hidden life and anonymity in his reality, the internal conflict starts to eat away at his soul. If one takes a look at Levinson’s work up to and including this project, it can be seen that a lot of the films that he creates deal with someone’s pursuit of the "American Dream", whatever that individual’s perception of that is.
