Evita (1996)
Won the Academy Award for song. Nominated for art direction/set decoration, cinematography, editing, and sound. Stone had very little input on the story despite his screenplay credit. He had intended on doing a film about Eva Peron, but after disagreements with the Argentinean president he dropped it. When progress was picked up where he left off, he was given a credit for laying the path to begin with. The film is based from the stage musical by the same name and is about Peron's life; from her difficult childhood to her political triumph. And all in song. (Not really written by Oliver Stone)
