Die Hard (1988)
Nominated for the Academy Award for sound effects, visual effects, sound, and editing. The best of the best of action movies. On Christmas vacation to visit his soon to be ex-wife in L.A., John McClane, a New York City cop, finds himself stuck in a building taken hostage by a group of German terrorists. Being the only person unaccounted for by the terrorists, he is able to plan and carry out his attack without them knowing his location. Bruce Willis has certainly never been cooler. Look for a decent duo of computer and Playstation games based on the trilogy. (Directed by John McTiernan)
