Coyote Ugly (2000)

Occasionally, a talented writer will be brought in to doctor up a potential script. This is usually done by adding wittier dialog and better jokes. Suprisingly, for Kevin Smith’s contribution to this film, this is not the case. They used a few of his character names, a few of his scenes, and one line of dialog ("I'm not a lesbian. I played in the minors, but never went pro").

And, despite what you may think, he had nothing to do with the subplot about the Spiderman comic book. So basically, in a line of eight total screenwriters, Mr. Smith’s contribution may be difficult to distinguish. The film is about a girl who wants to make it big as a songwriter and moves to New York. After finding that the business may be a little harder to crack into than she had anticipated, she finds other employment at a bar called Coyote Ugly. And the mayhem ensues. Pretty good movie. Very high energy. But don’t expect to find a lot of Smith type humor. (Uncredited writing by Kevin Smith)
