Back to the Future (1985)
Won the Academy Award for sound effects. Nominated for song, sound, and screenplay written directly for the screen. Great movie. The story is smart and well done. It's about a teenager who accidentally travels back in time and has to try to alter his young parent’s lives after he inadvertently stops them from falling in love. Originally the time machine was written to be a refrigerator, but those involved didn't want kids crawling in them in effort to travel time, so it was changed to a DeLorean. Good idea. An animated children’s series based on the trilogy later ran on CBS for a couple of seasons. (Written and directed by Robert Zemeckis)
